Central Otago A&P Association Tertiary Scholarship

A very big congratulations to our 2025 Scholarship winner Jed Nevill. Growing up on his family farm in Moa Creek and studying agribusiness at high school is where Jed's passion to want to improve farming practices and make farming more profitable and sustainable started.

Jed has just finished his first year at Otago University studying a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Agricultural Innovation. His hope is to be able to provide innovative ideas to the sector in the future, with a particular interest in increasing the value of the NZ red meats and ensuring they have a stable place in both domestic and international markets.

Jed has had leadership experience and opportunities through being a prefect at John McGlashan College (2023), and the flag bearer and skip of the curling team for the NZ Winter Youth Olympic Team 2024!

Congratulations Jed on winning our scholarship and we wish you all the very best with your studies and with your future curling competitions.

Congratulations to our 2022 Scholarship Winner. Bridget Airey is currently enrolled in her second year of a three year Bachelor of Agriculture degree at Lincoln University. At a very young age Bridget realised she was happiest being out on the farm. She has a passion for environmental sustainability in the farming sector; and would like to look at the genetic side of the sheep and beef industry and look at ways of creating a more sustainable animal that is going to provide just as much production whilst taking lower inputs. As well as influence a positive image of the rural sector in the media. We wish you all the best in your further study Bridget!
